Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt, I would like to thank you for coming tonight to celebrate the opening day of Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition 2008. This is our 13th show in Guangzhou, and we continue to grow from strength to strength.

This year at Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition we have 1,539 exhibitors, from 21 countries and regions. This is a 25% increase from last year. For those of you who are exhibiting, I hope you have had a successful first day. If you have come to Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition and Electrical Building Technology Guangzhou to do business with our exhibitors, I hope you have found exactly what you were looking for.

We are happy to announce that on our first day we have attracted of 13,540 visitors. That’s an increase of 26% from 2007. Among them 29% percent are from overseas, an increase of 12% compared to last year

Tonight we have a number of VIPs in attendance and I would like to emphasise how much we appreciate the time you have taken out of your busy schedules to attend our shows and tonight’s event. Our thanks also go to the 10 supporters of Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition. We could not have put on such fine trade fairs without our supporters. Through your endorsements and promotional efforts, we have managed to create truly international platforms for the lighting industry.

Looking forward, we have some exciting plans for 2009: the scale of the exhibition will be further expanded and we will hold the concurrent lighting forums that cover different topics.To conclude my speech, I wish you all every success over the course of the fair!
