　　在翻譯副詞修飾形容詞或另一個(gè)副詞的結(jié)構(gòu)時(shí)，有時(shí)也不能一概譯成“……地”結(jié)構(gòu)，而需要將該副詞抽出來加以增益，才能說明其含義，如：

　　3. Chimpanzees are the animals closest biologically to humans.
　　從生物學(xué)角度看，大猩猩與人的關(guān)系最親近。

　　4. Tami said it was possible, just statistically unlikely.
　　泰米說有這樣的可能，但是從統(tǒng)計(jì)的角度來看又不太可能。

　　5. The second child she dreamed of might now be medically impossible.
　　她本來還想要一個(gè)孩子，從醫(yī)學(xué)角度來看，現(xiàn)在是不可能了。

　　6. Only 18 percent are officially unemployed.
　　據(jù)官方統(tǒng)計(jì)，只有百分之十八的人是失業(yè)者。

　　7. Real-estate prices in downtown Manhattan looked prohibitively expensive.
　　市中心曼哈頓的房地產(chǎn)價(jià)格貴得使人望而生畏。

　　有時(shí)候，形容詞做定語或表語時(shí)，也無法用一個(gè)詞將其意思充分表達(dá)出來，翻譯這個(gè)形容詞時(shí)也需要進(jìn)行增益，如：

　　美國(guó)造了許多風(fēng)力磨坊，這從經(jīng)濟(jì)和生態(tài)角度看是有道理的。

　　13. Now we stay a respectful distance him.

　　當(dāng)然不能將a respectful distance譯為“尊敬的距離”，應(yīng)將這一句譯成“我們對(duì)他敬而遠(yuǎn)之”。

　　14. He had a sound feeling that idioms were the backbone of a language and he was all for the racy phrases.
　　他感到習(xí)語是語言的主要支柱，因此特別主張用生動(dòng)的短語，他的想法是很有道理的。

　　15. The prisoners of war are allowed to write censored letter.
　　戰(zhàn)俘們可以寫信，但信件要受到檢查。

　　16. We should be very cautious when buying expensive things and ask ourselves if we are making a wise purchase.
　　我們?cè)谫I貴重的東西時(shí)一定要小心，問問自己買這樣的東西是否明智。

　　又如：I wouldn’t have eaten it, only I’m too ladylike to take it out of my mouth. 這一句中的ladylike很難用一個(gè)中文詞來表達(dá)，其意思是“像個(gè)有教養(yǎng)的女人那樣”。這一句不妨譯成：“我本來不想吃，只是覺得再從嘴里拿出來不太雅觀。”
