在翻譯副詞修飾形容詞或另一個(gè)副詞的結(jié)構(gòu)時(shí),有時(shí)也不能一概譯成“……地”結(jié)構(gòu),而需要將該副詞抽出來加以增益,才能說明其含義,如:

他感到習(xí)語是語言的主要支柱,因此特別主張用生動(dòng)的短語,他的想法是很有道理的。
15. The prisoners of war are allowed to write censored letter.
戰(zhàn)俘們可以寫信,但信件要受到檢查。
16. We should be very cautious when buying expensive things and ask ourselves if we are making a wise purchase.
我們?cè)谫I貴重的東西時(shí)一定要小心,問問自己買這樣的東西是否明智。
又如:I wouldn’t have eaten it, only I’m too ladylike to take it out of my mouth. 這一句中的ladylike很難用一個(gè)中文詞來表達(dá),其意思是“像個(gè)有教養(yǎng)的女人那樣”。這一句不妨譯成:“我本來不想吃,只是覺得再從嘴里拿出來不太雅觀。”
