在國際風云變幻中，我國堅持獨立自主的和平外交政策，進行了卓有成效的雙邊和多邊外交活動，同世界各國和地區的友好合作關系不斷發展，我們堅持原則，頂住壓力，維護了國家主權、領土完整和民族尊嚴。我國的國際地位日益提高。
Amidst international vicissitudes, China has adhered to an independent foreign policy of peace and conducted fruitful diplomatic activities in both bilateral and multilateral contexts. Meanwhile, China’s friendly relations and cooperation with other countries and regions have developed steadily. By sticking to principle and resisting pressure, we have safeguarded our state sovereignty, territorial integrity and national dignity, thus gradually raising our standing in the international community.
和平與發展仍然是當今世界的兩大主題。國際局勢正在發生重大而深刻的變化。大國關系繼續調整。多元化的發展趨勢日益明顯。國際經濟聯系日益密切，科學技術突飛猛進，對世界政治、經濟和社會的發展產生重要影響。在新的國際形勢下，我們要一如既往地奉行獨立自主的和平外交政策，進一步開創外交工作的新局面。
Peace and development remain the two themes of the world today. The international situation is undergoing major and profound changes. Big powers continue to readjust their relations. The trend developing toward multipolarity has become increasingly apparent. International economic links are getting closer and science and technology are advancing by leaps and bounds, both of which are exerting a profound impact on world political, economic and social development. In the new international situation, we will, as always, continue to uphold our independent foreign policy of peace and open up new vistas in diplomatic work.
中美兩國元首成功的國事訪問，將兩國關系推向新的發展階段。我們希望，在中美三個聯合公報和中美聯合聲明的基礎上，雙方共同努力，求同存異，發展合作，推動兩國關系取得實質性進展。
The successful state visits by the heads of state of China and the United States have ushered Sino-US relations into a new stage of development. We hope that the two sides can work together to seek common ground while putting aside differences and increase cooperation on the basis of the three Sino-US joint communiqués and the Sino-US Joint Statement so as to promote a new substantial developments in our bilateral relations.
中俄關系繼續發展，兩國簽署了《關于世界多極化和建立國際新秩序的聯合聲明》，并根據有關協定解決了東段國界的勘界問題。我們要進一步擴大兩國在經貿、科技等領域的合作與交流，加強在國際問題上的磋商與合作。
