You might also see a process, a diagram, or maybe even a table on the IELTS, but for today, we are only going to be focusing on pie charts.

Okay, so what is a pie chart? A pie chart shows us percentages.
好的，那么什么是餅狀圖呢？餅狀圖給我們展示了比例。
Okay? So, if we look down here, I have here what I spend my money on.
如果我們往下看，我在這里有一個關(guān)于我的日常開支的圖。
Okay? I want you to imagine each month, all the money I make, all my salary, this is what I spend it on.
我想讓你們想象一下，我每個月掙的所有的錢，我所有的薪水都花在了這些事情上。
I spend some of it on rent, I spend some of it on food, I spend some of it on transport or transportation, and I spend some of it on fun.
我在房租上花了一些錢，在食物上花了一些，在交通上花了一些，還在娛樂上花了一些。
Okay? So, on the IELTS, you might have to describe something like this.
在雅思考試中，你們可能得描述像這樣的事情。
It might be more complicated, sometimes you might actually have two pie graphs or pie charts that you might have to compare and describe,
也許會更復(fù)雜一些，有時候可能實際上有兩個餅狀圖，而你們也許得比較并描述它們，
but in this case, let's start out a little bit easier.
但是在這里，我們就從簡單點的入手吧。
So, I want you to imagine you're writing the IELTS, and you've been told to describe this pie chart.
那么，我想讓你們假設(shè)自己正在做雅思試卷，題目要求你們描述一下這個餅狀圖。
What are you going to say about it? Okay?
你們要說些什么呢？
Well, the very first thing you should do is you should think about: what does it all mean?
你們應(yīng)該做的頭一件事是，你們應(yīng)該思考一下：這都是什么意思？
And by that, I mean: think about how much percent is each thing?
我那么說的意思是：你們要思考一下每一項的百分比是多少。
Okay? So, for example, for cost of living, how much is this? What size does this look like?
知道了嗎？比如生活成本，這一項所占的比例是多少？這一塊的面積看上去像多少？
Although we can't be sure, because I'm not the best artist and this is not a perfect circle, I would say this is about 50%.
雖然我們沒法確定，因為我不是最好的畫家，而且這也不是個完美的圓，但是我會說這大概是50%。
Okay? And this, what does it look like to you? Maybe 25%, so, food is around 25%, transport we might say...let's say 15%.
那這個呢？你們覺得這個是多少？也許25%吧，所以食物的比例是25%，交通的話......我們就說它是15%吧。
