Years ago, when people did not have much money and lived in cottage, neighbors were very friendly to each other. They usually helped each other, borrowed something from each other, got together to talk about something they came across in their daily life and always gave suggestions to each other to slove the problems. They were very good friends. Sometimes your neighbors invited you to their home to have a meal with full enthusiasm. When you were in trouble, your neighbor would be the first person to help you. As it says, the close neighbors are better than distant relatives.
However, things have changed a lot now. The relationship between neighbors is not as good as that in the past. The friends next door from whom you borrowed eggs or ladders have moved and people in there now are strangers. Some of the traditional stories of neighorliness are impractical or silly and maybe just as well that our relations with our neighbors are changing. Neighbors are noisy. They may often listen to music with a high volume and when you try to tell them you would like to have your silence they may get rude and the only one way you can stop them is calling the police. Neighbors can turn into enemies and when you start to trust them, they could go so crazy and in the worst case they are eating your animals' food from your yard. These are only a few examples and we are sure there are more bad ones.
There are many reasons for the changes. With the development of the society, the pace of the life is becoming quicker and quicker. People are busy with their work every day. They just want to make more money but they ignore their neighbors, and the communication between neighbors is becoming less and less, while good relationship needs more communication.

Candidate 2: I think that the relationship with neighbors has changed in recent years.
With the development of society, people's standard of living has witnessed great changes. That is the main reason of this problem, because people are always busy in lives. Especially for people who are working, they all work hard in order to make their lives better. They almost forget that work is not the only thing in life, and they don't contact with their neighbors. Some family does not even know their neighbors' family name though they have been living together for several years. This phenomenon is particularly acute in the city.
A near neighbor is better than a distant consin, as they say. If fellow residents know one another well, there will be more mutual help and understaning among them, and many problems can be solved.
