Well, my group was great!

Can you tell us about your group?

Well, we were all high school students from the US.
好的，我們都是來自美國的高中生。
But we were very different.
但是我們又都非常不同。
You mean from different cities, with different religions and cultures?
你是說你們來自不同的城市，有不同的宗教信仰和文化嗎？
Yes, and I was excited about that.
是的，對于這一點(diǎn)我感到很興奮。
We learnt that we weren't really so different.
我們又認(rèn)識到我們并非如此不同。
What do you mean?
這是什么意思呢？
Well, we became such good friends.
我的意思是說我們變成了非常好的朋友。
More than friends, we were like a family.
與其說是朋友，我們更像是一個家庭。
Wonderful. I'd like to know more about your host family.

Oh, I loved my host family in Costa Rica.

They were my family, too.
他們也是我的家人。
I felt like I was their daughter.

Did you have any problems speaking with them?
你在跟他們語言交流上有出現(xiàn)問題嗎？
No, not really.
并沒有。
Actually, I learned a lot of Spanish from them.
事實(shí)上，我跟他們學(xué)習(xí)了很多西班牙語。
And I also learned that language is not always so important.
我也發(fā)現(xiàn)語言有時并不是那么重要。

Well, in some cases, a simple smile can say more than words.
