兩者均可表示“皮”，區(qū)別如下：　　
1. skin 主要指毛皮、獸皮、人的皮膚等。如：　　
Snakes cast their skin once a year. 蛇每年脫一次皮。　　
It takes 20 skins to make a overcoat. 做一件大衣要 20 張毛皮。　　
The woman has a beautiful skin. 這個(gè)女人皮膚很美。　　
She is only skin and bone. 她瘦得皮包骨。　　
注：skin 也可指水果的“皮”。如：　　
He slipped on a banana skin. 他踩在香蕉皮上滑倒了。　　
2. leather 主要指經(jīng)過(guò)加工處理的“毛皮”(如用于服裝業(yè)等)。如：　　
I don’t like leather gloves. 我不喜歡皮手套。　　
She bought him a leather jacket. 她為他買了一件皮夾克。　　
注：有時(shí)人們?cè)谠撚?leather 的地方也用 skin。如：
