It was a cold and snowy morning after the winter vacation. Actually, it was my first day at my new school.
這是寒假后的一個寒冷的早上，天空還下著雪。實際上，這是我第一天去新學校上課。
I was walking slowly and worrying about lots of things. It was early and there weren't many people on the road.
我走得很慢，擔心很多事情。因為是大早上，街上行人稀少。
A girl on a bike passed me quickly.
一個騎著自行車的女孩快速地與我擦肩而過。
She was riding on ice when suddenly she fell off her bike a few steps in front of me.
她騎車經(jīng)過一塊冰面的時候，突然從自行車上摔了下來，就倒在我面前幾步。
She was trying hard to get up but fell again.
她努力掙扎著想站起來，但是又摔倒了。
Without thinking, I went over and helped her stand up.
我不假思索地就沖過去把她扶了起來。
She said, "Thank you," with a smile and then rode away.
她笑著對我說道：“謝謝”，然后騎上車繼續(xù)前行了。
The words "Thank you" warmed me and this small event made me feel less nervous about my new school.
“謝謝”這個詞溫暖了我的心，而且這件小事使我對新學校沒那么緊張了。
Finally, I got to school. The teacher led me to the classroom and asked me to sit down beside a girl.
后來，我來到了學校。老師把我領進班里，然后讓我坐在一個女孩的旁邊。
I was so nervous. I knew some of the students were looking at me but I didn't dare to look at them.
我實在是太緊張了。我知道好多同學都在看我，但是我卻不敢看他們。
Soon the first class started. It was English.
然后，我的第一堂課開始了。這節(jié)課是英語課。
They used a different textbook from my old school and I didn't have a copy.
他們使用的教材和我以前學校使用的不是一個教材，而我手里沒有這本教材。
As I was wondering what to do, a book appeared in front of me.
正當我不知道該怎么辦的時候，一本書出現(xiàn)了在我眼前。
"Let's share," the girl next to me said.
“咱們一起看吧。”坐在我旁邊的女孩兒對我說。
"And hi, I'm Carrie." I looked up. It was the girl I helped that morning. What a surprise!
“對了，我叫卡里。”我抬頭一看，原來她就是我早上幫助過的那個女孩兒。這實在太巧了！
From then on, we became good friends. She was my first and best friend at my new school.
從那以后，我們成為了好朋友。她是我在新學校認識的第一個朋友，也是最好的朋友。
Helping her also helped me find a friend.
正是因為我?guī)椭怂?，我才有了這么一個好朋友。
