I would like to ask my Chinese friend some questions about colours in China.

Maybe I'll ring him up tonight.
我今晚可能給他打電話。
Ring up?What do you mean?
打電話？你是什么意思？
Phones don't go up when they ring.
鈴聲響起的時候，電話不會起來。
They can't fly!

"To ring up someone" is the British way of saying to call someone on the phone.
這是英國的說法，表示給某人打電話。
That's different.

There are quite a few differences between your English and my English.
你的英語和我的英語有很多不同。

Sometimes we describe the same thing in different ways or use different words.
有時候我們用不同的方式或使用不同的詞語來描述相同的事情。
We say "in a team",while you say "on a team".
我們說“in a team”，而你們說“on a team”。
And you use "washroom" or "bathroom" instead of "toilet".
而衛(wèi)生間你們使用“washroom”或“bathroom”，而不用“toilet”。
You have "autumn" instead of "fall",and you spell color "c-o-l-o-u-r".
秋天我們用“autumn”，不用“fall”。而且你們拼寫顏色是“c-o-l-o-u-r”。
There are also some differences in pronunciation and even in grammar.
在發(fā)音甚至語法上，還有一些不同處。
I remember asking my cousin to translate things for me when I first came to Canada.
我記得當(dāng)我第一次來加拿大時，讓我的表兄幫我翻譯。
"Are we speaking the same language?" I asked myself.

Ha ha! Did you know that there is American English,British English, Australian English and even African English?

They are different,but they are all English.

By the way, some Canadians use the word "eh" at the end of their sentences.
順便說一下，一些加拿大人在他們的句子后面使用單詞“eh”。
It's pronounced like the letter "A".
它的發(fā)音同字母“A”一樣。
What does it mean?
它是什么意思？
It is a friendly way of saying
這是一種禮貌的表達(dá)
"Do you understand?" or "Do you agree?"
“你明白了嗎？”或“你同意嗎？”的方式。
Oh,I see.That's interesting,eh?
哦，我知道了。那很有趣，是嗎？
