Apologize

Worn-out baby-sitter to returning parents: Don’t apologize for being late. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to come home either.
疲憊的臨時保姆對回來的父母說：別因為回來晚了向我道歉，換了我也不著急回家。
注：小孩兒把他（她）折磨得筋疲力盡了。

場景再現：有些人做錯事兒，道歉，接著再做錯事兒，再道歉，養(yǎng)成了道歉的習慣，后來沒做錯事兒時也會習慣性道歉。

她是這么一種人，早上醒來會立刻開始道歉。

I apologize for saying your parents were degenerates.
我說你父母墮落，我向你道歉。
注：表面上是道歉，其實又說了一遍“你父母墮落”。道歉不是因為說錯了，而是因為說了出來。

場景再現：夫妻間特別有禮貌，為了一點兒小事兒相互道歉，妻子實在不耐煩了，用手槍指著丈夫的頭說：
I’m sorry, but someone has to put a stop to this endless cycle of apologizing.
對不起，但是有人必須結束這場無休止的道歉。

If an Englishman gets run down by a truck, he apologizes to the truck.
如果一個英國人被一輛卡車撞倒，他向卡車道歉。
注：英國人非常紳士，被卡車撞了以后還彬彬有禮地沖卡車道歉。

我已經養(yǎng)成了道歉的習慣。
