“單口喜劇”用笑點暴擊痛點，用幽默跟生活和解
Sue Liu, 29, is a primary school teacher in Beijing. At the end of a tiring week, she would love nothing more than to watch stand-up comedy.
29歲的蘇·劉（音）是北京的一名小學老師。結束一周疲憊的工作后，她只想去看單口喜劇。
For Liu, the laughter that stand-up comedy brings is a form of relaxation itself and is a welcomed break after a long week. “Watching stand-up comedy has become a routine in my life,” Liu said.
對蘇·劉（音）是來說，單口喜劇帶來的笑聲本身就是一種放松，一種結束了一周漫長的工作后的愜意休息。“看單口喜劇已經成為我生活的一部分，” 蘇·劉（音）說。
Though China is new to stand-up comedy, the country’s young people, like Liu, are warming up to jokes and jibes. In 2020, the third season of Rock & Roast, an online variety show where comedians compete against each other, garnered 190 million views. Data from the data tracking company Guduo Media shows that the program’s audience is largely made up of those aged between 19 and 35.
盡管單口喜劇在中國剛剛起步，但像蘇·劉（音）這樣的中國年輕人，越來越喜歡幽默嘲諷的段子。2020年，第三季《脫口秀大會》收獲了1.9億播放量。喜劇演員在這檔綜藝節目中同臺較量。據數據追蹤平臺骨朵傳媒的數據顯示，《脫口秀大會》大部分觀眾年齡在19-35歲之間。
Liu said that the new entertainment genre attracted her because of the topics discussed.

“Performers often speak to the reality of today’s society,” Liu said. “That’s why many young people often find this genre relatable.”

Liu likes Chinese comic twins Yan Yi and Yan Yue very much. The twins often focus on anxiety women often face as well as gender discrimination. For example, they have joked about the misrepresentation of female friendships in media and entertainment. “The only movie that doesn’t depict two women fighting with each other over a man is The Shining (an iconic horror movie from the US).”
蘇·劉（音）很喜歡雙胞胎姐妹顏怡和顏悅。這對雙胞胎姐妹經常聚焦女性面臨的焦慮和性別歧視。比如，她們講過媒體和娛樂圈對女性友誼存在誤解的段子。“唯一沒有描述兩個女人為了一個男人互相傷害的電影是《閃靈》（美國經典恐怖電影）。”
“They make us laugh, but also make us be conscious of or rethink about some issues,” Liu said.

For Kit Chen, 28, a worker at an internet company, stand-up comedy is an important emotional outlet.
28歲的基特·陳（音）在一家互聯網公司工作，對他來說，單口喜劇是一個重要的宣泄途徑。
Chen said that he fell in love with stand-up comedy by accident. One day, after he finished his work and was returning home by subway, he scrolled through a video clip of comedian Li Xueqin. Within that limited period of time, Li used a lot of memes.
基特·陳（音）稱，一次偶然的機會，他愛上了單口喜劇。有一天，他下班乘地鐵回家，刷到了喜劇演員李雪琴的視頻。在有限的時間里，李雪琴說了很多“梗”。
“Her humor and even self-mockery gives me a quick laugh to let off some stress in the fast-paced life,” said Chen.
“她的幽默，甚至是自嘲很搞笑，能讓我釋放快節奏生活中的一些壓力，”基特·陳（音）稱。
Life may be full of things that don’t go our way. But this entertainment genre “encourages youngsters to make peace with life through humor”, CGTN noted.
