Wherever you find a boastful person, you find one who is secretly doubtful and afraid.
你會發(fā)現(xiàn)，那些喜歡自吹自擂，愛炫耀的人雖然看起來十分自負，不可一世，但他們的內(nèi)心其實卻充滿了疑慮和恐懼。
Simply feel the faith, and let it work out in every transaction;

let every act and tone and look express the quiet assurance that you are getting rich; that you are already rich.
事實勝于雄辯，你的行動和實際情況就是證明你財富的最有力的證據(jù)。
Words will not be necessary to communicate this feeling to others; they will feel the sense of increase when in your presence, and will be attracted to you again.
這種感覺是無法用言語表達出來的，你只能用心去感受。這就是我們常說的無聲勝有聲。只要你一出現(xiàn)，人們自然就能夠感受到你的財富正在增加的事實，如此一來， 他們自然就會被你所吸引了。
You must so impress others that they will feel that in associating with you they will get increase for themselves.
因此，你必須不斷地加強加深這一印象的力度，從而讓你身邊的每一個人都感覺到，只要和你在一起，他們的財富就一定也會隨著你的增加而增加。
See that you give them a use value greater than the cash value you are taking from them.
這就是我在前文中所提到的，有些人，你從他們那兒獲得了具有一定貨幣價值的財富，為此，你應(yīng)當(dāng)回報以更豐厚的財富，而其價值則應(yīng)當(dāng)遠勝于當(dāng)初你獲得的貨幣價值。
Take an honest pride in doing this, and let everybody know it; and you will have no lack of customers.
假如你真的做到了，你當(dāng)然可以為自已感到自豪，更應(yīng)該讓所有人都了解這一點，讓所有人都知道你再也不會為缺少顧客而發(fā)愁，只不過，自始至終，你都應(yīng)當(dāng)保持一種謙遜平和的態(tài)度，自豪與自負之間絕對不能劃等號。

You will be able from day to day to make larger combinations, secure greater advantages, and to go on into a more congenial vocation if you desire to do so.

But doing all this, you must never lose sight of your vision of what you want, or your faith and purpose to get what you want.
不過，還是那句話，在做所有這些事情的同時，你都必須時刻牢記最初的那幅夢想藍圖，必須一如既往地堅持自己當(dāng)初的信念和目標(biāo)。
Let me here give you another word of caution in regard to motives. Beware of the insidious temptation to seek for power over other men.
關(guān)于行動的初衷，另外有一點也是我必須提醒大家的。在你行動的過程中，一定要小心提防權(quán)利的誘感，決不能讓企圖控制他人的權(quán)利欲望成為你思想的主宰者。

For countless ages kings and lords have drenched the earth with blood in their battles to extend their dominions;
歷史上，不計其數(shù)的國王和君主為了滿足自己對領(lǐng)土疆域的控制欲而發(fā)動了無數(shù)場戰(zhàn)爭。慘烈的戰(zhàn)爭令生靈涂炭，可統(tǒng)治者的欲望卻因此而得到了滿足，無辜百姓的鮮血為他們換來了更寬廣的疆域。
this not to seek more life for all, but to get more power for themselves.
這樣的戰(zhàn)爭并不是為了實現(xiàn)生命的意義，更不是為了完成生命的進化，而是為了填滿戰(zhàn)爭發(fā)動者渴望更多權(quán)力的欲望溝壑。
Today, the main motive in the business and industrial world is the same;
時至今日，人類對于權(quán)力的渴望并沒有因為歲月的流逝而消失。在今時今日的商業(yè)社會和工業(yè)世界里，沒有硝煙的戰(zhàn)爭隨處可見，
men marshal their armies of dollars, and lay waste the lives and hearts of millions in the same mad scramble for power over others.
只不過，這一次，美元金條代替了過去全副武裝的士兵，但這并沒有減少人和殺戮。為了爭奪對他人的控制權(quán)，人們以金錢為武器，相互廝殺，留下的只有傷痕累累的社會和無數(shù)顆受傷的心靈。
Commercial kings, like political kings, are inspired by the lust for power.
戰(zhàn)爭的發(fā)起者，商業(yè)社會中的金融大亨們，就像古代的政治君王們一樣，為了滿足自己卑劣的權(quán)利欲望，全然不顧他人的利益。
Jesus saw in this desire for mastery the moving impulse of that evil world He sought to overthrow.
就拿《圣經(jīng)》來說吧，耶穌早已看穿了隱藏在這一欲望之下的邪惡意念，決定將其推翻。
Read the twenty-third chapter of Matthew, and see how He pictures the lust of the Pharisees to be called "Master,"

to sit in the high places, to domineer over others, and to lay burdens on the backs of the less fortunate;

and note how He compares this lust for dominion with the brotherly seeking for the Common Good to which He calls His disciples.
與此形成鮮明對比的是耶穌一貫倡導(dǎo)和追求的一種兄弟般的情誼，以及全人類共享的財富，而絕不是某個人，或某個集團的利益。
Look out for the temptation to seek for authority, to become a "master,"
現(xiàn)在，當(dāng)你放眼向外望去時，你會發(fā)現(xiàn)權(quán)利的誘感無處不在。在它們的誘惑下，你很容易就會產(chǎn)生想當(dāng)世界“主人”，
to be considered as one who is above the common herd, to impress others by lavish display, and so on.
想成為千萬人之上的人上人的可怕欲望，你甚至?xí)a(chǎn)生期待眾人用一種敬仰且畏懼的眼光凝視自己，等待自己的施舍等等卑劣的想法。
The mind that seeks for mastery over others is the competitive mind; and the competitive mind is not the creative one.
渴望成為千萬人之上的人上人，渴望成為他人的統(tǒng)治者，所有這些思想皆源自于權(quán)力欲的不正當(dāng)競爭思想。接受這種思想，就意味著你失去了創(chuàng)造力。
In order to master your environment and your destiny, it is not at all necessary that you should rule over your fellow men
如果你只是想控制時勢，掌握自身的命運，那么，你根本無須通過統(tǒng)治他人這種低級的方式來實現(xiàn)。
and indeed, when you fall into the world's struggle for the high places, you begin to be conquered by fate and environment,
事實上，一旦你陷人到權(quán)利的戰(zhàn)爭中，你就會開始漸漸地失去控制自身命運和時勢的能力，
and your getting rich becomes a matter of chance and speculation. Beware of the competitive mind!
而你成功致富的幾率也隨之變得渺茫起來，接下來的一切都只能聽天由命。因此，一定要提防不正當(dāng)競爭觀念對你思想的侵蝕！
No better statement of the principle of creative action can be formulated than the favorite declaration of the late "Golden Rule" Jones of Toledo: "What I want for myself, I want for everybody."
