The movie is a biographical drama film, based on the book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis.

The main character is Michael Oher, who is now a football star at the National Football League. He was an African-American homeless, and a white family adopted him. Thanks to the family, they boy finds love, the possibility to study and the great opportunity to start his football career.

It was Leigh Anne who first found Michael picking up leftover food from other students.

One night, she saw Michael walking alone on the road in the rain, and shivering without adequate clothing. When she learned that he planed to spend the night outside the closed school gym, she offered to let him sleep on the couch in their home.

Leigh Anne treats Michael like her own son. Unlike Michael’s teachers who only keep complaining that he knows nothing, Leigh Anne kept observing him and found that he has a strong protective instinct, and later guided him to use his advantage to play football.

Michael says,

Courage is a hard thing to figure. You can have courage based on a dumb idea or mistake, but you're not supposed to question adults, or your coach or your teacher, because they make the rules. Maybe they know best, but maybe they don't. It all depends on who you are, where you come from.

Should you always do what others tell you to do? Sometimes you might not even know why you're doing something. I mean any fool can have courage. But honor, that's the real reason for you either do something or you don't. It's who you are and maybe who you want to be...You should hope for courage and try for honor.
