One of the things that I talk about in the book – I think it's such an important component of happiness, is spirituality.
我在書里談到的一個(gè)問題是，我認(rèn)為幸福的重要組成部分是精神性
Now the dictionary definition of spirituality is- one of the definitions is the real sense of significance of something. So if I see something as significant, as important, as meaningful, I'm having a spiritual experience engaging in it.
字典對(duì)精神性的定義是，其中一個(gè)定義是，對(duì)有重大意義的事情的感知。因此如果我發(fā)現(xiàn)一些極具意義、極其重要的東西、意義非凡的，我就對(duì)它有種精神性體驗(yàn)
So what is significant to me? What is important to me?
那什么對(duì)我意義重大呢？什么對(duì)我重要？
And the thing to keep in mind is that it doesn't matter what I choose, what direction I go in. If I choose something that is self-concordant, that is aligned with my personal goals and mission, I will lead a spiritual life.
要記住，選擇什么、往哪個(gè)方向走并不重要。如果我選擇的東西是自我和諧的，和我個(gè)人的目標(biāo)和使命相符合，我就會(huì)過上精神性生活
In fact, an investment banker who goes into investment banking for the right reasons, because he/she cares about this work. Because they think it's important, because they enjoy it. Because they love dealing with numbers and having the adrenaline rush. And yes, they are people who truly enjoy it.
事實(shí)上，一個(gè)投資銀行家從事投資銀行業(yè)的最合適理由是因?yàn)樗蛩诤踹@工作，因?yàn)樗麄冋J(rèn)為這是重要的，因?yàn)樗麄儤吩谄渲校驗(yàn)樗麄兿矚g和數(shù)字打交道、喜歡那種刺激感。沒錯(cuò)，他們真的享受這工作
If they go in for the right reasons, they will lead a much more spiritual life than a monk who goes into the order for the wrong reasons.
如果他們是因合適的理由而去做這份工作，那他們就會(huì)比一個(gè)不虔誠(chéng)的僧人有更好的精神生活
