Harry and Ron had given up asking her how she was managing to attend several classes at once,
哈利和羅恩已經不再問她怎么能夠同時上好幾門課了，
but they couldn't restrain themselves when they saw the exam timetable she had drawn up for herself.
但是，他們看到她為自己擬定的考試時間表的時候，還是忍不住。這張表的第一欄寫道：
The first column read: MONDAY 9 o'clock, Arithmancy 9 o'clock, Transfiguration Lunch 1 o'clock, Charms 1 o'clock, Ancient Runes
星期一9點鐘，算術占卜9點鐘，變形午飯1點鐘，魔咒1點鐘，古代魔文
'Hermione?' Ron said cautiously, because she was liable to explode when interrupted these days.
“赫敏？”羅恩小心地問道，因為這些日子里她一受打擾就容易暴怒。
'Er — are you sure you've copied down these times right?'
“哦——你肯定沒把這些時間抄錯嗎？”
'What?' snapped Hermione, picking up the exam timetable and examining it. 'Yes, of course I have.'
“什么？”赫敏厲聲說，拿起那張時間表來仔細察看。“對的，我當然沒抄錯。”
'Is there any point asking how you're going to sit two exams at once?' said Harry.
“你怎么能夠同時坐在兩個考場里，這樣問一下不算沒意義吧？”哈利說。
'No,' said Hermione shortly. 'Has either of you seen my copy of Numerology and Grammatica?'
“不算，”赫敏簡短地說，“你們誰看見我的《數字學和語法學》了？”
'Oh, yeah, I borrowed it for a bit of bedtime reading,' said Ron, but very quietly.
“哦，對，我借了去躺在床上的時候稍微看看。”羅恩說道，但是說得很平靜。
Hermione started shifting heaps of parchment around on her table, looking for the book.
赫敏開始在她的桌子上搬動一堆堆的羊皮紙，找那本書。
Just then, there was a rustle at the window and Hedwig fluttered through it, a note clutched tightly in her beak.
就在這時，窗子處一陣響動，海德薇緊叼著一張便條飛了進來。
'It's from Hagrid,' said Harry, ripping the note open. 'Buckbeak's appeal — it's set for the sixth.'
“是從海格那里來的。”哈利說，把那張便條撕開了，“巴克比克的上訴定在六號那天。”
'That's the day we finish our exams,' said Hermione, still looking everywhere for her Arithmancy book.
“那正是我們考試結束的日子。”赫敏說，仍舊在到處找她的算術占卜書。
'And they're coming up here to do it,' said Harry, still reading from the letter. 'Someone from the Ministry of Magic and — and an executioner.'
“他們到這里來聽取上訴，”哈利說，仍舊在讀那便條，“是魔法部的什么人和……一名行刑手。”
Hermione looked up, startled. 'They're bringing the executioner to the appeal! But that sounds as though they've already decided!'
赫敏抬起頭來，驚慌了。“他們帶行刑手來聽取上訴！聽起來好像他們已經決定了呀！”
'Yeah, it does,' said Harry slowly.
“對，是這樣的。”哈利慢慢地說。
