US Soccer Champions Fight for Equal Pay
美國足球冠軍為同工同酬而戰
The US women’s soccer team took home its fourth World Cup trophy last weekend, and was undefeated in the 2019 tournament. Though the battles on the soccer fields are over, the US team is not done fighting. The national team is currently in a legal battle with its employer over equal pay. Members of the US team filed a lawsuit against the US Soccer Federation on International Women’s Day last March. The women are demanding to be paid the same amount as their American male counterparts. In a celebratory parade in New York City on Monday, people chanted “USA. Equal Pay!”
