Jill and Dianne were friends.
吉爾和黛安是朋友。
They met in junior high school and played on the same sports teams.

One day, they were spending time together. They were walking in the park.

"It's too hot in the sun. Let's go sit in the shade," Jill said.

They sat down. But after they sat down, Jill stood up again.

"This is a terrible spot. Let's go over there," Jill said.

Spending time with Jill was getting harder and harder.

Over the years, Jill complained more and more. She was never happy.

They sat down again. This time Dianne tried to cheer Jill up a little bit.

"Are those shoes new, Jill? They look nice on you," she said.
她說:“吉爾,這雙鞋是新的嗎?你穿上真好看。”
Then Jill started complaining about her shoes.

Dianne sighed. Dianne regretted saying anything at all.
黛安嘆了口氣。她后悔自己開口說話了。
Finally, Jill asked about Dianne's new school.
最后,吉爾詢問起了黛安的新學(xué)校。
"It's great! I'm making a lot of new friends..." Dianne was saying.
“很棒!我交了很多新朋友...”黛安正說著。
But then Jill started talking again.
不過隨后吉爾又開始打斷了她的話。
"It's not fair! I never make new friends.
“不公平!我從來沒交到過新朋友。
You won't like me anymore! You'll never spend time with me again."
你不喜歡我了!你再也不會(huì)和我一起出來了。”
Jill was so negative. Dianne wanted to say something.
吉爾情緒太消極了。黛安想要說些什么。
