Voice 1: The race began. Madeline did not know what the trainer had told Doris. She followed the plan and slowed down to wait for Doris. After the first part of the race she understood something was wrong. She said,

Voice 1: Afterwards, Madeline asked Doris what had happened. Doris explained that she was following her trainer's advice. Madeline was very hurt. She found it hard to forgive him.
