Chapter 17. How the Balloon Was Launched
第17章 輕氣球怎樣飛走的
For three days Dorothy heard nothing from Oz.
三天很快就過去了，多蘿茜從奧芝那里沒有聽到任何消息。
These were sad days for the little girl, although her friends were all quite happy and contented.
雖然她的同伴都感到快樂和滿足，可是對于這個(gè)小女孩子，這些日子是郁郁不樂的。
The Scarecrow told them there were wonderful thoughts in his head; "I have so many wonderful thoughts in my head."
稻草人對他們說，在他的頭腦里，產(chǎn)生了一種奇異的思想；“我腦子里有很多美好的想法。”
But he would not say what they were because he knew no one could understand them but himself.
但是他無法用語言表達(dá)出來，因?yàn)槟侵皇撬：母杏X罷了，當(dāng)然沒有一個(gè)人能夠懂得。
When the Tin Woodman walked about he felt his heart rattling around in his breast;
當(dāng)鐵皮人走動(dòng)的時(shí)候，他覺得他的心在胸腔的四周，發(fā)出轆轆的聲音來；
and he told Dorothy he had discovered it to be a kinder and more tender heart than the one he had owned when he was made of flesh.
然后他告訴多蘿茜，他已經(jīng)感覺到，這顆心和他的肉身時(shí)所有的心相比較，是更加善良，而且更加慈愛的了。
The Lion declared he was afraid of nothing on earth, and would gladly face an army or a dozen of the fierce Kalidahs.
獅子則宣稱：在這個(gè)地球上，它不會(huì)怕任何東西了，并且能鎮(zhèn)定地去迎戰(zhàn)一支軍隊(duì)，或者十二只兇猛的開力大。
Thus each of the little party was satisfied except Dorothy, who longed more than ever to get back to Kansas.
在這個(gè)小團(tuán)體里，除了多蘿茜以外，每一個(gè)都處于興奮和快樂中，所以，她渴望能夠回到堪薩斯州的愿望更強(qiáng)烈了。
On the fourth day, to her great joy, Oz sent for her,
第四天，奧芝召喚了她，這使她充滿了希望，
and when she entered the Throne Room he greeted her pleasantly:
當(dāng)她走進(jìn)宮殿中去時(shí)，奧芝微笑地說：
"Sit down, my dear; I think I have found the way to get you out of this country."
“我的親愛的寶貝兒，請坐下來，我想有辦法使你走出這個(gè)國度了。”
"And back to Kansas?" she asked eagerly.
“還能回到堪薩斯州去？”她急迫地問。
"Well, I'm not sure about Kansas," said Oz,
“唔，我也不能說是堪薩斯州，”奧芝說，
"for I haven't the faintest notion which way it lies.
“因?yàn)槲乙膊恢滥菞l路在哪里。
But the first thing to do is to cross the desert, and then it should be easy to find your way home."
但是我相信，只要能越過大沙漠，就很容易地找到你回家去的路。”
