A new study commissioned by the Home Depot reveals that having a child in the home often influences the decision to buy smart appliances.

The survey also showed 90 percent of respondents said they believe smart home devices make life easier for aging adults and may allow them to continue living independently in their own homes by making some tasks simpler or even automatic.
