Dialogue 1
Jingjing: Hey, Mark, did you have a good weekend?
Mark: Yeah, I did, and now it's over.
Jingjing: Hey, why are you being such a grouch? Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?
Mark: You can say that. I'm just not ready to go back to work, that's all. I have the Monday blues.
Jingjing: Ohhh, I see. You have a case of the Mondays. That's normal! No one wants to go back to work on Monday, but we just have to sweat it out.
Mark: Yeah, I think if I worked for a bigger company I would be happier.
Jingjing: Hey, what's wrong with the job you're doing now? You're a PM at your company. That's really impressive.
Mark: Yeah, but my friend Bob just got a job across the street at a more prestigious company.
Jingjing: Really? What's his position?
Mark: He's a bottom feeder right now. But still, it's a better company to work for.
Jingjing: Well, just remember what they say: It's better to be the head of a dog than the tail of a lion. Even though the company you work for isn't as well known as Bob's, you have a much more important position there. Just be grateful for what you have.
Mark: You're right, Jingjing. You always know how to cheer me up.
Jingjing: That's what I'm here for!

Dialogue 2
Jingjing: Hey, looks like you're in a good mood this morning.
Mark: That's right! TGIF! This is my favorite day of the week. The weekend is finally here. I just have to make it through today and then I can relax for two days!
Jingjing: Yeah, Friday is definitely a day that makes me happy too. Wednesday is also a nice day for me. It's the hump day. To me, it's the half-way point for the work week. After Wednesday, the week is downhill from there.
Mark: Yeah, you're right. My most dreaded day of the week is Thursday because I have to have my weekly review with my boss. He's always threatening me that he will bump me down a position if my projects aren't finished on time.
Jingjing: Don't worry, he's all bark and no bite. That's normal for managers to say those things to employees. Just do your best and everything will work out.
Mark: I hope you're right. Anyways, got any plans this weekend?
Jingjing: Yeah, actually, I got the short end of the stick and have to work over time. The good news is that I can earn some extra money!
Mark: Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Oh,well, have a good day at work and I'll talk to you next week.
Jingjing: Cheers!
