The Apple iPhone is 10 years old today. When Steve Jobs launched the first iPhone, he promoted it as the combination of three products in one: a mobile phone, an iPod with touch controls, and a "breakthrough internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, searching and maps."
It was a revolutionary moment in technology -- all of that in "one small and lightweight handheld device." The iPhone "is the most successful consumer device ever created," but where does it go from here? Who knows if the iPhone will remain a rectangular slab for the next 10 years.
