事件：菲比曾經(jīng)的最愛戴維短暫回國前來看望菲比。菲比沒有告訴他自己現(xiàn)在有男朋友，反而完全沉浸在戴維對她的贊美中。

David: Well, just for a couple of days, um, I'm here to explain to the people who gave us our grant, why it's a positive thing that we spent all their money and uh, accomplished um, nothing.
戴維：只待幾天，呃，我回來是為了跟我們的贊助商解釋，為什么我們花光了他們給的補(bǔ)貼卻什么都沒研究出來還是個好事。
Phoebe: Who cares, it got you here.
菲比：管它呢，你回來就好。
David: Well, it got me to New York anyway, and then I got on a cab at the airport, and the guy said where to, and I just gave him your address. I... I... I didn't even think about it.
戴維：是啊，不管怎么說我回紐約了，然后我在機(jī)場打了輛出租車，司機(jī)問我去哪兒，我就給了他你的地址，我，我，我甚至都沒多想。
Phoebe: Wow. Where is your luggage?
菲比：哇。你的行李呢？
David: Damn it!
戴維：見鬼！
Phoebe: A-All right, well, I'll call the cab company.
菲比：沒，沒關(guān)系，嗯，我打電話給出租車公司。
David: Wa... wa... wait! We can call them later. Can you just... just stand there f-f-for a moment? Boy! There's an old Russian expression, um, it goes: Что я здесь вижу, ой! Roughly translated that means um: This thing that I'm looking at, wow!
戴維：等，等，等一下！我們一會兒再給他們打電話。你能，你能在那兒站一會兒嗎？天啊！俄語里有句俗語是這么說的：Что я здесь вижу, ой! 大概意思是：美艷不可方物。
Phoebe: Thank you! God, no! You should see me when... Oh actually, no, I look pretty good.
菲比：謝謝你！哦不！你不應(yīng)該現(xiàn)在來看我……哦，實際上，不，我現(xiàn)在看起來很不錯。
David: Are... are you kidding? You know, when you don't see someone for a long time, a-a-and you kind of build them up in your head and you start thinking about: Come on, don't be crazy. Nobody is that beautiful, but, well, you are. Well, so, um, are you seeing anyone?
戴維：豈止，豈止是不錯？你知道嗎，當(dāng)很久未見一個人的時候，你會在腦海中構(gòu)想那個人的美貌，但是你轉(zhuǎn)而會想，別犯傻了，天下哪里會有那么漂亮的女子，但是，你就是那么漂亮。那么，嗯，你現(xiàn)在有男朋友嗎？
Phoebe: No.
菲比：沒有。
