I'm gonna share with you some interesting studies to start with just on traditional diets

Some one of them is fresh off the press and I have to admit, has really blown my mind

So I'm gonna share that with you as well

This is just four different studies that were published, all looking at communities that eat a Mediterranean diet

And looking at the fact that they have much better life expectancy, lower mortality in general
這些社區(qū)通常有較高平均壽命及較低死亡率
So starting to look instead of a factor like Prozac or Viagra

They are actually looking at a diet as an intervention

And they have all these different ways that they quantify what is a Mediterranean diet, We can talk about that in a little bit

But the bottom line being that people that eat this kind of diet traditionally

did better than people who were eating a western or standard American diet or what have you

The interesting thing about this study in particular

was it wasn't necessarily done in people from Italy or Greece or France or even people who can drive for a couple of hours and see the Mediterranean

One of these groups actually lives in Australia
其中一個(gè)群體甚至居住在澳大利亞
So they are suggesting the fact that these diets are very transferable and something I call diet swapping

And although genetics might play a role and we'll talk about that a little bit at the end if we have time
