The temple might seem tranquil today,
今天這廟宇看似挺平靜的
but tonight, on New Year's Eve, it is a completely different story.
但在今晚的除夕夜里，那可完全是另一番景象了
Thousands of people queuing up outside the temple gates,
成千上萬人在門外排著隊
getting ready to burn incense and make their wishes to bring good fortune for the coming year.
都準備著進去燒香，然后祈愿來年的鴻運
The crowds are already gathering for this,
人群都已經(jīng)集中起來
the most auspicious time of the New Year celebrations here in Hong Kong.
等待著香港新年慶典中的那一最吉祥的時刻
Do you think this year is going to be a good year for monkeys?
你覺得今年對屬猴的人們是個好年嗎
Yes. You do? Good luck for monkeys. Good luck for monkeys.
是的。真的嗎？猴年行猴運。猴年行猴運

It's the lady in pink that I particularly like.

She's got sort of very fluffy, rather friendly looking cat on her sweatshirt,
你看她有點兒...她衣服上有只毛茸茸的可愛的貓
but her face says, "No-one messes with me."
但她一副“誰也別惹我”的表情
Now the crowd are really pushing forward.

There is going to be this almighty shove, I think, to get right to the front of the queue.
我想這將是一場全面推進，大家都想搶到隊伍前頭
I wondering if my wish earlier on at the temple should have been that I don't get crushed tonight!
想想白天在廟里祈愿的時候，真該改成祈求今晚別被踩扁的
This evening, the temple opens at 9.
今晚大黃仙祠9點開放
And being the first to enter and make an offering is considered particularly lucky.
能夠最先進到廟里，搶到頭柱香是非常吉利的事情
