Napoleon’s Hat Auctioned Off
拿破侖帽子開(kāi)拍
An iconic felt hat worn by Napoleon Bonaparte was auctioned off in Paris on Sunday. The French emperor’s hat, which he always wore sideways in order to be recognized on the battlefield, sold for 2 million dollars to a collector from South Korea. The highest bid was about five times more than expected. Other items from the collection, including Napoleon’s scarf and stockings, were also sold in the auction. The items belonged to Monaco’s royal family. The family’s goal was to raise money for palace renovations.
