Wen: Hey,《Kingsman: The Secret Service》is finally out. Let’s go check it out!
Colleague: Sure. I’ve also been waiting for a long time. A gang member from the streets became a secret service member. It sounds like such an interesting story. But I don’t plan on going to the movie theaters to pay for a ticket.
Wen: The movie just came out. How are you planning on watching the movie if you’re not gonna buy a ticket? Oh, I see. You wanna download the movie from the Internet and watch it for free?
Colleague: That’s right, Why do I have to spend money on it since I can download it after it's been out for a while? That's what I always do. Plus I don't think we have to go to the cinema to watch a movie, because watching it at home is just as good.
Wen: Well, I see things differently. Let me put it this way, firstly, the 《Kingsman: The Secret Service》is awesome, it’s got everything that a classic popcorn flick should have: English gentleman VS American hip-hop thugs, it has all kinds of spy gear, and you can enjoy British accents VS American accents, a typical counter-attack plot, and there’s a dual at the end. Just Colin Firth’s wonderful performance alone is worth every penny of your ticket.
Colleague: I admit that.
Wen: Secondly, movie theaters have better sound and light effects, and much better Ambience which you can't get when you watch it at home. Besides watching movies with your family or friends gives you an opportunity to share your feelings. You can laugh and cry together, it helps improve family relationships.
Colleague: I never thought about that.
Wen: Last but not least, downloading movies from the internet is immoral. It’s illegal in other countries. sometimes you will get fined or have to pay a penalty, and you can even be sentenced to jail if you get caught. The Western countries attached great importance to Copyright protection. People going to the cinema and buying DVDs has become routine. Otherwise, who’s gonna make movies?
Colleague: So in order to protect the film industry, the Chinese government had come up with copyright legislation and shut down a lot of film and TV show download sites last year?
Wen: That's right. So if you wanna watch a movie, go to the cinema. If you want to listen to music, buy a CD with copyright, not only because it's legal, but also it’s a way for you to show your respect to the people who work in the film and music industries , they are supposed to be paid for what they produce.
Colleague: I can’t agree with you more. Now I get it . I feel like a thief and stole a movie from them. I won't watch those downloadable movies any more. You win, let’s hit the cinema !
ME: Let's roll!
