第53課 猴子吃大餐
Thai people believe that keeping monkeys happy brings good luck.
泰國人相信讓猴子快樂會(huì)帶來好運(yùn)。
So every year there's a day on which they have a special treat for monkeys called the Annual Monkey Feast.
因此,他們每年都有一天會(huì)為猴子舉辦特別的宴請,叫做“年度猴子盛宴”。
Hundreds of monkeys come from the mountains to "sit at" long buffet tables which are piled high with bananas, peanuts, watermelons and cabbage.
好幾百只猴子從山里跑來“坐在”長長的自助餐桌前,桌上堆著高高的香蕉、花生、西瓜和包心菜。
Monkeys will be monkeys. So they fool around and fights break out.
猴子就是猴子,所以它們會(huì)胡鬧和打架。
But nobody seems to care. Neither do the monkeys.
但似乎沒有人在乎,猴子們也不在乎。
They just stare back at the crowds of people who turn out to watch them.
它們只是回過頭來瞪著跑出來看它們的人群,
Then they continue to monkey around and have a good time.
然后繼續(xù)胡鬧,玩得不亦樂乎。
