I’m going to San Francisco,California! There’s gonna bea Chinese New Year Parade on March 7th thisyear!

Wait, did I hear you correctly? Did you just say that you’re going tothe United States toattend a Chinese New Year parade? I didn’t know American’s celebrated Chinese NewYear!
京晶：等等，我聽錯(cuò)了嗎？你說你要去美國(guó)參加中國(guó)新年的游行慶祝？我真不知道原來美國(guó)人民也要慶祝中國(guó)新年呀！
That’s right! The San Francisco Chinese New Year celebration originated in the1860’s during the Gold Rush period. Now, it’s the largest Asian event inNorth America as well as the largest general market event in NorthernCalifornia. The celebration includes two major fairs: the Chinese New YearFlower Fair and the Chinatown Community Street Fair.
小高：沒錯(cuò)！舊金山的中國(guó)農(nóng)歷新年大巡游早在1860年代的淘金時(shí)代就開始了。現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)是北美地區(qū)最大的亞洲盛事，也是北加州地區(qū)最大的盛事哦，這場(chǎng)盛大的慶祝呢包括兩大市集：中國(guó)農(nóng)歷新年花會(huì)，和中國(guó)社區(qū)群街會(huì)。
Oh my gosh! That’s outof this world! Soyou mean this parade is world-renowned?
京晶：我的天，那還真是挺棒的，你是說這活動(dòng)早已世界聞名了嗎？
That’s right! It’s beennamed one of the world’s top ten parades. Some of the parade highlights include elaborately decorated floats, school marching bands, martial arts groups, stilt walkers, liondancers, and the newly crowned Miss Chinatown USA.
小高：沒錯(cuò)啊！舊金山的農(nóng)歷新年大巡游還被譽(yù)為世界十大巡游之一呢。其中的亮點(diǎn)包括：精美制作的花車方陣，學(xué)生樂隊(duì)方陣，中華武術(shù)方陣，踩高蹺方陣，舞獅隊(duì)方陣，還有新加冕的的“全美華埠小姐”哦！
