19.Three nuns

Three nuns were talking about their parish priest.
They were discussing his room, which they took turns cleaning every week. They were surprised by some things they had found!
One said, "I found some porno magazines and I threw them away."
Another said, "I found some condoms and I poked holes in them."
The third nun said, "Oh shit!"

Notes:

1. Three nuns were talking about their parish priest.

有三個修女在談論她們的教區教士。

clergy泛指神職人員；priest通常是指天主教的教士，他們不能結婚，且必須禁欲；基督教的minister是可以結婚的。信徒通常稱呼他們為神父。

nun [nʌn] n.修女 parish [ˈpærɪʃ] n.教區 priest [pri:st] n.牧師；僧侶

2. They were discussing his room, which they took turns cleaning every week.

他們在討論他的房間，那里每周由她們輪流打掃。

"turn"指“（輪流做某事時的）機會”，"take turns"指“采用輪流的方式做某事”，后接動名詞。若要表達輪到了誰，可以用It's one's turn。

3. They were surprised by some things they had found!

她們對所發現的一些東西感到吃驚！

句中的by也可以用at取代，使用by時，其被動語氣較強。

4.One said, "I found some porno magazines and I threw them away."

porno也可以寫成porn，它們是pornographic和pornography的縮寫形式。

oh是表示恐懼、喜悅、驚訝、痛苦是所發出的感嘆詞，而shit則是生氣、焦急時所發出的感嘆詞。
shit [ʃɪt] interj.可惡！
