Old Farmer Johnson was dying. The family was standing around his bed.
老農(nóng)約翰遜就要死了。他的家人都站在床邊。
With a low voice he said to his wife: "When I'm dead I want you to marry farmer Jones."
他聲音低沉地對(duì)妻子說(shuō)：“我死后，我想你嫁給農(nóng)夫瓊斯。”
Wife: "No, I can't marry anyone after you."
妻子說(shuō)：“不，在你死后，我不能嫁給任何人。”
Johnson: "But I want you to."

Wife: "But why?"

Johnson: "Jones once cheated me in a horse deal!"

revenge：報(bào)仇，報(bào)復(fù)
eg：I resolved to revenge myself on the enemy. 我決意向敵人報(bào)仇。

2.dying
dying在這里是die的現(xiàn)在分詞。dying本身可做形容詞，是渴望的意思：
be dying for渴望，巴不得立即；表“非常”
be dying for sth/to do sth. 極想
Be dying to do sth/for sth. 非常想得到或想做某事
be dying for sth. / be dying to do sth. 恨不得馬上

3.cheat
cheat表示“哄騙”“騙取”，是及物動(dòng)詞，其賓語(yǔ)通常是人而不是物，且不能接雙賓語(yǔ)。
1.表示騙取某人某物，常用句型是cheat sb(out) of sth。
如：He cheated the old man (out) of his money. 他騙了這個(gè)老人的錢。
2.表示騙取某人做某事，其常用句型為 cheat sb into (doing)sth。
如：They cheated her into marrying him. 他們騙她同他結(jié)婚。
3.表示“舞弊”“欺騙”，通常不及物，注意其后所接介詞。
如：He often cheats at cards. 他打牌經(jīng)常作弊。
