The science fiction fantasy of human-like robots is already coming true. Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro can literally be in two places at once, skipping school to enjoy a day in the park, while at the same time conducting a seminar at Osaka University. That's because Professor Ishiguro has created Geminoid—his android double.
人形機(jī)器人已由科幻小說(shuō)變成現(xiàn)實(shí)。石黑浩教授可以“分身”同時(shí)去兩個(gè)地方——離開學(xué)校，在公園里享受生活，同時(shí)也能參加大阪大學(xué)的研討會(huì)。這是因?yàn)槭诤平淌诎l(fā)明了Geminoid，他自己的機(jī)器人雙胞胎。
This is not our standard android. The Geminoid means twins. And a division of geminoid is teleoperated android of an existing person.

Geminoid looks exactly like Ishiguro down to the tiniest details. To achieve this lifelike appearance, Ishiguro made a silicon mold of his body and use real human hairs. His purpose in recreating himself？So basically I am developing this kind of robot for understanding what is a human.
Geminoid 看起來(lái)像是將石黑浩最大程度得細(xì)節(jié)化了。為了成就其逼真的外表，石黑浩用硅膠模具作身體，用真發(fā)作頭發(fā)。他是想重塑自己？基本上，我研發(fā)這類機(jī)器人目的在于弄懂人類自身。
The geminoid can be remotely controlled via a motion capture system that tracks Ishiguro's mouth movements and allows the robot to speak with Ishiguro's voice. Ishiguro has also given his creation other human-like mannerisms.
這種孿生機(jī)器人可以通過(guò)運(yùn)動(dòng)捕獲系統(tǒng)來(lái)追蹤石黑浩的嘴形變化，這樣機(jī)器人就能以石黑浩的聲音發(fā)言。石黑浩還賦予他的智慧結(jié)晶其它類人的行為舉止。
When we are sitting we never stop, a human's always moving. The Geminoid also has that kind of subconscious movement.

To create this effect Ishiguro installed hundreds of tiny actuators. They twitched so realistically that Ishiguro could hardly believe his eyes.
為了達(dá)到這個(gè)效果，石黑浩在機(jī)器人體內(nèi)安裝了幾百個(gè)微小的驅(qū)動(dòng)器。他們?nèi)绱吮普娴爻閯?dòng)，連石黑浩本人都不敢相信自己的眼睛。
When I first saw the Geminoid moving, it was quite strange for me.
