【詞義辨析】
arise, originate, result,
arise: 多與from連用，側(cè)重指從無到有的產(chǎn)生，表一種因果關(guān)系。
originate: 強調(diào)產(chǎn)生變化的起源。
result: 側(cè)重變化的最終結(jié)果。
consequence, result, effect, outcome,
consequence: 多指隨某一事件引起的，必然或自然的不良結(jié)果，不強調(diào)直接的因果關(guān)系，而側(cè)重事件發(fā)展的邏輯關(guān)系。
result: 普通用詞，含義廣泛，側(cè)重因某種原因所產(chǎn)生的最終結(jié)果，而不是眼前的結(jié)果。
effect: 指因某種原因直接產(chǎn)生的結(jié)果，著重持續(xù)穩(wěn)定與其影響。
outcome: 普通用詞，多指事物經(jīng)過一系列發(fā)展變化所導(dǎo)致的最終結(jié)局，而不是某種原因的直接結(jié)果。常可與result通用。
【詞語用法】
result from意為“因……而起”，而result in表示“導(dǎo)致……的結(jié)果”。
Success results from hard working.
成功來自努力工作。
[Hard working results in success.|努力工作成就成功。}
有時候result與results可竄用。
The result(s) of the examination will be published early in August.
考試的結(jié)果會在八月初公布。
句子類型The result is that she become a greater fool than before在口語中常省略句首的the；
as a result of普遍被應(yīng)用，而as the result則不常用；
with the result后常接that從句。
My room was small and looked out on a narrow courtyard, with the result that I always felt fenced in.
我的房間很小，看出去是個很窄的庭院，致使我總覺得自己被困在柵欄中一樣。
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句：He must have felt tired and that tiredness may have resulted in him falling asleep.
糾正：He must have felt tired and that tiredness may have resulted in his falling asleep.
翻譯：他應(yīng)該是感到累了，因為勞累導(dǎo)致他睡著了。
分析：result in后面跟的him falling asleep不符合語法。

【詞義辨析】
accurate, exact, precise, right, true, correct,
accurate: 指通過謹慎的努力達到符合事實或?qū)嶋H，側(cè)重不同程度的準確性，與事實無出入。
exact: 著重在質(zhì)與量方面的準確，語氣比accurate強。
precise: 側(cè)重極端準確，更強調(diào)細節(jié)的精確無誤。
right: 使用廣泛，可與這些詞中的correct換用，但常暗示道德、理解、行動等方面的正確。
true: 暗指絕對準確，尤指復(fù)制品與原件絲毫不差。
correct: 最常用詞，主要指按一定標準或規(guī)則來衡量，沒有謬誤和差錯或無缺點錯誤。
