Chongqing is welcoming the new year with its 2012 Spring Festival Grand Lantern Exhibition.
This exhibition highlights lantern patterns from Zigong - an ancient city famed for its lantern making.
The exhibition is made up lanterns from twenty popular groups. Various styles of bright and colorful lanterns help create a festive atmosphere which attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year.
The beautiful nightscape seems to be enchanting tourists who can be seen snapping countless pictures with friends and family.
