Lesson Fifteen ( the Third Lecture)

我的朋友，“話說地道美語”等待您很久了，我是Juliet，或許您也等待“話說地道美語”很久了，因為我們大家都度過了一個長假。現在的桂林，丹楓迎秋，金桂飄香，金風玉露，秋高氣爽，秋陽杲杲，霜天紅葉，稻谷飄鄉——好一派亮麗的秋景！

I didn't get up on the wrong side of the bed every day. I was in the senventh heaven all the time, spending a seven-day holiday. And did you not get out of bed on the wrong side each day? I am hoping that you didn't wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Well , whatever your answer is "Yes." or "No", it passed. A new day comes and we must go back to work or study.

【課堂熱身】
大家還記得在第15課中講述的“to express someone is unhappy (the whole day)”的非常有趣的而且還充滿著迷信色彩的說法嗎？Actually, I've talked of them at the start of today's programme. So, what are they? They are: get up on the wrong side of the bed; get out of bed on the wrong side; wake up on the wrong side of the bed. In addition, we have two short sentences to say it. They are "You get out of bed the wrong way." or "You get out of bed with the left leg foremost." 以上個習語和2個短句都是可以描述一個人（整天或者是一天中的一段時間或者是某時候）心境糟糕，心緒煩亂，心煩意亂，情緒不佳等等不好的心理狀況。

【課堂詳解】
In fact, we have much more colourful expressions to give a description of your state of unhappiess. So, let's move to the third lecture in Lesson Fifteen.

1. under the weather
The argument put me under the weather.
這場爭論使我心情很糟糕。

2. in a bad temper ( have a bad temper )
The heavy work has put our father in a bad temper, so we shouldn't get his shirt off any more.
繁重的工作已經使我們的父親的心境很糟了，我們就不要再惹他生氣了。
注解：get one's shirt off 惹怒某人 put somebody + 介詞短語 使某人感覺到......

3. in ill humour (out of humour)
You must be in ill humour to be so cross about so small a thing.
你一定是心情不好才為一件小事而發這么大的氣。
注解：be cross (with sombody) about something =be angry with somebody about something, be mad at somebody about something)

4. out of sorts
The boss is out of sorts at the moment and you'd better not ask for trouble.
老板此刻情緒不好，因此，你最好不要自找麻煩。
注解：ask for trouble 再找苦吃，自找麻煩

5. in a bad mood (in one of one's bad moods, in a black mood)
It's time to put a stop on your childish behaviours because they've made your boyfriend in one of his bad moods.
你的嬌嬌小姐脾氣該收斂了，你那些孩子氣的行為已經讓你男友很煩了。
注解：put a stop 收斂，停止 put a top on something 停止，收斂某事 put a strain on somebody 使某人感到負擔，受到負擔的影響 put pressure on somebody 使某人感到壓力，收到壓力的影響

6. feel blue (feel down)
She seemed to feel a bit down this morning.
她今早看起來有點怏怏不樂。
注解：feel blue 和feel down中feel是系動詞，blue是形容詞做表語，down是副詞做表語。

【課堂總結】

在今天的課堂上，我們學了更多的描述一個人心情不好的地道口語表述法，總結起來共有14個說法，貌似很多，但是記憶起來來并不難——我們可以把14個表達法分為6個類別來記憶，一個weather，一個sorts， 兩個temper，兩個humour，兩個feel，三個mood。還挺押韻的，親愛的朋友們，不難吧。

4. 自從他失去工作后，就一直心情不好。
