Last time we talked about some short sentences including idea are widely used in our daily conversations. And today I will talk about some idioms which are used in a foreigner's daily speech . 在上一期中我們談到了含有idea的一些廣泛用于日常會話中的短句,今天了,我將給大家講解一些含有idea這個詞的習語,也就是老外的街頭語。Let's get started. 1 I have no idea.
{情景}您或許是個博學人士,無數學者會虛心向您請教問題,但是一個人不可能知曉天下事兒,因此在您遇到您的粉絲們的提問而回答不出時,您可以坦白地說:“{例句} That 's a good question. You really beat me! I'm sorry that I have no idea about it. ”這是個好問題,您可真把我難倒了。非常抱歉我不知道這個問題的答案。{釋義}In this sentence, " I have no idea " means "I don't know."
2 Not have the faintest idea (not have the first idea)
{情景}您經常跟別人開玩笑地說您是個英語博士,當別人問到您問題時,您根本就不知道,{例句} 這時您可以這樣說:“ I just play a trick on you. You have the right idea that you have run a computer club yourself ! ”嘿,小子,你自己開個網吧可真走對路了!{釋義} In this sentence, we can see that " have the right idea " means" have found a very good or successful way of living or doing something". 此外,have the right idea 可以說為:get the right idea. {即學即用} 他想通了——打算55歲退休。He has certainly had ( got ) the right idea——retiring at 55.
4 That's an idea!
{情景} 今日陽光和煦,微風徐徐,一改昨日的悶熱,此時您或許會想給自己疲憊的心靈放個假,{例句} 建議大家開著車到鄉村喘口氣:“I suggest that we should spend our weekend in the countryside.”和您一樣勞累的同事一定贊同:“That's an idea! Hit the road right away! Enjoy ourselves! Blow off some steam! ”好主意!咱們趕快上路吧!享受生活!釋放壓力!{釋義} In this sentence, " That's an idea!" is used to reply in a positive way to a suggestion that somebody has made. 用于贊同某人的建議。譯為:“好主意!”。{即學即用} 嘿!好主意!我們還可以請一支樂隊。Hey! That's an idea! And we could get a band as well.
5 That's the idea.
{情景} 您的能力非凡,是公司老總的左右手,每次圓滑地為老總解圍,{例句} 老總定就會說這句話:“That's the idea.”干得好! {釋義} In this sentence, "That's the idea." is used to encourage people and tell them they are doing something right. “That's the idea!”用于鼓勵人們并告訴他們做得對。{即學即用} 對啦!做得對!That's the idea! You are doing fine.
6 You have no idea...
{情景} 原來被別人看不起的您現在時權錢在手,不知招來多少人眼紅,您會體貼周到地安慰他們:“{例句} That's no big deal. You have no idea how hard I spent those hard times! I would rather that I had led a life like you.”這沒什么的。你無法想象我所走過的那些歲月是多么地艱辛。我倒是寧愿過您這樣的生活。{釋義} In this sentence, "You have no idea..." is used to show that something is hard for somebody else to imagine. 譯為:你無法想象......。
7 give somebody ideas ( put ideas into somebody's head )
{情景} 您總會有很多不切實際的想法,您的母親一定會對您說這句話:“{例句} Who have given you ideas? ”這是誰使得你想入非非的?{釋義} In this sentence, "give somebody ideas' means "give somebody hopes about something that may not possible or likely " or means" make somebody act in a unreasonable way". 譯為:空想,想入非非。{即學即用} 他是個不切實際的人,一點小小的成功就會使他想入非非。 He is not a practical person, a little success will put ideas into his head. 上大學使她產生了不切實際的奢望,認為她可解決每個人的問題。Going to university has put ideas into her head--she thinks now she's got the answers to everyone's problems.
