And this morning I'd like to talk about a fresh sentence pattern with you which is : It is important that S should do. 我想大家都很清楚這個句式的意思了，是：做某一件事兒很重要。但是就此句型還有很多可探究的東西。

【主題詳解】

Let's make a sentence using this sentence pattern. It is important that we should hit the books. 努力學習是很重要的。句中hit the books在教科書中是見不到的，它是俚語，it means"study hard". 在此句中，it 是形式主語，真實主語是由that引導的主語從句that we should hit the books. 可見主語從句中使用了虛擬語氣，即謂語形式為：should + 動詞原形。情態動詞should可以省略。因此，在這樣的句型it is + adj. + that S ( should ) do中，若adj.是important, vital，essential這樣表示“重要的”詞語的話，那么主語從句中要使用虛擬語氣。

【例句及解析】

1 It is important that he attend everyday. 他每天都要出席，這很重要。注意這個句子在主語從句中省略了情態動詞should，因此雖然從句中的主語he是第三人稱單數，而且主句又是一般現在時 is, 但是不能把attend加上s,即：attends. 那么我們要強調“對于他來說”，每天出席都很重要，這個又怎樣表達呢？It is : It is important to him that his attendance come every day. 此句中注意to him 是作為狀語，在這類句型中放置的位置在主句的表語后，和主語從句的連詞前。還要強調一點的是這類句型中的狀語是介詞短語充當，注意介詞一定是: to,而不要用for。For 是用于不定式的情況下。For example: It is important for him to attend every day. 2 It is important to me that you be here. 這個句子中be here的緣由想比大家通過第一例句已經知道了，在此就不多說了。
