1.To sum up my credo in a sentence: The farther away I get from myself, the nearer I get to God. Most of my troubles came when I was obsessed with my own petty concerns and trivial details.
我的人生信條就一句話:我離自己越遠,離上帝就越近。我的大多數煩惱都來自于我過于在乎那些不必要的小問題。
這句話當中的credo表示:a set of beliefs, principles, or opinions that strongly influence the way a person lives or works. 信條。例如:To be the first to bear hardship and the last to enjoy comfort is our credo.
吃苦在前,享受在后,這就是我們的口號。
be obsessed with是“癡迷 ”的意思,
如:Some women are obsessed with/by the need to keep their home as clean as a hospital.
有些婦女一心想要把她們的家保持得像醫院一樣潔凈。
2. What close calls.
多么僥幸啊!
close call表示:something achieved (or escaped) by a narrow margin 僥幸脫險,死里逃生
如:Susan have a close call in her car.
蘇珊開車險些遇到意外。
That was a close call, the train nearly hit the car.
好險,火車差一點就撞上那部車子
