Honorable judge ,ladies and gentelemen:

I must admit that I didn't quite understand the meaning of Beijing's bid until I stand here at this very moment.
我必須承認我并不太理解北京申奧的意義,直到我站在這里的這一刻.
Nor did I realize the meaning of competition when I set out to prepare for this contest.
當我開始準備這次演講時,我也沒有意識到比賽的意義.
Having only a vague idea that it would be a challenge in every sense of the word,I hesitated to take the responsibility when I was selected to represent my colloge .
只有一個模糊的意識:在每一方面都是一個挑戰,當我被選為大學的代表參賽,我是猶豫地接受的.
I resented my tutor when she found fault with my draft essay,which I was secretly pround of .
當我的指導老師發現我的手稿有錯,而我卻偷偷自豪時,我的老師生氣了.
I wanted to quit when I couldn't finalize the essay for the speech .
當我不能完成演講稿的時候,我想過放棄.
I felt hurt when I was criticized for being sheepish in the rehearsal.I almost thought of running away before the train moved out of the station .

Even last night ,I prayed in my bed for a sore throat, or a stomachache,or anything that could excuse me from standing here.

Yes ,coming to this contest has been an arduous journey for me .Facing you my honorable judges and audience,I feel it's time to be myself .

It's time to be self -confident.The idea dawned on me when I was stepping onto the platform.
是時候滿懷自信了.當我踏上舞臺時,這種想法讓我徹悟了.
After all, I have come here well prepared .If I am not here to demonstrate what's best in me ,what did I prepare and practice for ?
畢竟,我是有備而來的.如果我不在這里發揮自己最好的一面,那我為了什么準備和練習的?我為了什么而為難自己?
What did I humble myself and struggle for ?What did I weep and rejoice for ?
為了什么而奮斗?為了什么落淚?又為了什么而歡呼?
To compete means to strive to win .As a contestant I wish my success;as a participant in the contest.
參賽意味著要努力取勝,作為選手,我希望我成功.作為參賽者,
I wish its success,which relies on the joint efforts of all the participants .
我希望它圓滿成功,這有賴于所有選手的共同努力.
Even if I can't win the first Prize ,I shall feel amply rewarded for having contributed to be the success of the event.
盡管我不能贏得第一名,但是能為比賽的成功而盡力而為感到已得到充分的報答.
What I have contributed to the competition is similar to what Beijing's bid has contributed to the spread of the Olympic spirit.
我為比賽所作的努力與北京申辦奧運，為推廣奧運精神而努力相似。
For this bid, Beijing has been significantly improving its environment, infrastructure, telecommunications and multi-language proficiency.
因為這次申奧，北京大大地改善了環境，基礎設施，電信和精通多國語言的教學。
For this bid, Beijing has been facilitating global exchange and leading us Chinese further into the international community .
因這次申奧，北京已經為與世界交流提供便利，引領中國更深入到國際大家庭里。
For this bid ,Beijing has already been promoting the Olympic spirit among ordinary Chinese and reinforcing our understanding of it.
因為這次申奧，北京已經在中國普通老百姓中宣揚了奧林匹克精神，加強我們對它的理解。
Indeed,Beijing's tenacious efforts to bid for an Olympiad have been effectively helping Olympism to take root in one-fifth of the world's population.
誠然，北京為申奧所作的不懈努力已有效地把奧林匹克精社在具有五分之一世界人口的國家里扎根。
This is the meaning of Beijing's bid that I have come to understand.
這是我終于理解的北京申奧的意義。
Beijing has yet to convince the IOC that it is the best candidate among all the bidding cities.
北京已經讓奧委會信服在所有的申辦城市中，自己是最好的。
Although it's still early to predict the final votes,I strongly believe that it will eventually host the games.
雖然估計最后票數仍為時過早，但我堅信北京將最終主辦奧運會。
I strongly believe that its competitive spirit developed in this bidding will spread over to the whole nation .
我相信這次奧林匹克競爭的精神將傳播到國際。
I strongly believe that will the support of so many Chinese people ,Beijing will be making greater contributions to Olympism more than any other selected city can.
我堅信有如此多中國人民的支持，對于奧林匹克精神的貢獻一定比其它候選城市要多，
I'm looking forward to the day Beijing hosts an Olympiad.
我盼望著北京主辦奧運會的一天。
I'm looking forward to contributing as a volunteer in the Beijing Games.
我渴望作為一名志愿者為北京奧作出貢獻，
I'm looking forward to meeting some athletes who have in all their lives endeavored to be swifter,higher,and stronger .
我渴望著遇見運動員，他們用畢生努力做到更快，更高和更強。
And following them,in the spirit of the Olympic Games,I am looking forward to a new round of competition in my life.
跟隨著他們，在奧運會精神的指引下，我盼望著我人生中新一輪的比賽。
Standing here ,I can't help marveling how much the competition has changed me ;
站在這里，我不禁驚異于比賽對我的改變是如此之大；
marveling how much the biding has changed Beijing ;marveling how bright the world is when we look at competition in a new light and take it as motivation for a better future .
驚異申奧對北京的改變是如此之大；當我們用新的眼光看待比賽，并把它作為跨入更好的將來的動力，我們驚異于這個世界是如此之精彩。

Judge;It's very enjoyable .You're been so persuasive and told us how much Beijing has gained already from taking part in the bidding ,
評委：非常有趣。你極具說服力地告訴我們，北京從申奧中得到了很多東西，
um ,do you think there is anything further for Beijing to gain by winning ,or doesn't it matter?
你為為北京贏得申奧還需要做些什么或它根本不重要？
LiJia:Well, of course ,even if we win the bid this time ,there is still much room for us to improve.
李嘉：嗯，當然，即使我們贏得了這次的申奧，仍然有很多東西需要我們去改善，
And there are still, um,a long ,there's still a long way to go .I mean ,um, I ,I , I arrived at Beijing several days ago and I was greeted by a sand storm.
我們仍然有一段很長的路要走。我的意思是幾天前我來到北京，就遇到了一場沙暴。
So ,I know Beijing ,I know the authorities already ,um,has already taken ,
所以我知道北京，我知道當局已經采取措施，
um,measures to fight the, the environmental ,uh , pollution ,but it's not enought .
奮戰環境污染，但那是不夠的。
So , um, in my opinion ,um greater efforts and larger sums of money should be spent ,uh, in that aspect.
所以我的觀點是，應該在那方面加大力度和投入更多資金。
And still I ,I would like to say that people have to be um, familiarized with Olympicism.
而且我仍然要說人們必須熟悉奧林匹克精神，
Like ,like what I have said in my speech ,I was so nervous,um, before I set out .
正如我在演講中說到，我出發前非常緊張。
And this contest and Beijing 's bid have enabled me to understand the meaning of competition ,the ,the meaning of striving for perfection .
這次比賽和北京的申奧讓我理解到比賽的意義，追求完美的意義。
And there are so many people who still do not have that understanding or do not have the opportunity.
仍然有很多人沒有這樣理解，或是沒有機會理解。
So ,I think more competitions and more contests of this sort should be held .And that is my understanding .Thank you .
所以我認為應該舉辦更多類似的比賽，這就是我的理解，謝謝。
