正：The book aroused my interest in politics.
析：arouse(引起，激起，喚起)是及物動詞，其后接賓語時，無需 用任何介詞。順便說一句：arouse 的賓語通常興趣、 懷疑、 憤怒、同情、批評、討論等較抽象的東西。
■演講者激起了聽眾的憤怒。
誤：The speaker aroused the audience with anger.
正：The speaker aroused the audience to anger.
析：表示激勵或喚起某人做某事，通常用arouse sb to sth，注意 通常用介詞 to，其實此句也可說成：The speaker arousedthe anger of the audience.又如：He tried to arouse her to action.(他試圖要使她采取行動)。
