Anthem 圣歌
anthem最初是教堂里應答輪唱的贊美詩歌,牧師領唱,唱詩班作答。它來自希臘語antiphona。其字面含義正是“應答輪唱”的意思, anti即“against”或“in return”,phone即“sound”,也就是“對歌”。這個詞進入古英語時寫做antefne。不過唱詩班取消了牧師的領唱。其拼法幾經演變,最后才成為今天的anthem。現在唱圣歌更簡單了,成了教堂中全體會眾的大合唱。另外,anthem現在還可用來指“國歌”、“校歌”。
