詞源小故事

romance 浪漫文學

romance指的是“浪漫文學”、“傳奇故事”、“風流韻事”等。上面這些意思看上去似乎和城市名“羅馬”（當時拼作Roma）并無關系，然而它們不僅從字形上有關，而且romance一詞確是從Roma變化來的。Romance來自古法語的Romans，是拉丁語Romanus（羅馬人）的派生詞，其最初的含義是羅馬人廣為流傳的一首歌曲或一則韻文故事。由于歌曲或故事的內容大都是描寫騎士的冒險或戀愛故事的，于是romance就轉化為“傳奇故事”、“風流韻事”、“浪漫文學”等含義。
