【語法用法】
contact作名詞時，既可作單數，也可作復數。英國人習慣用其單數形式，而美國人則習慣用其復數形式，表示“聯系”的意思。
I have had many contacts with my friends.
contact作動詞時，指“與……聯系”。
During my stay in the city I contacted several teachers.
表示“開始與某人接觸”時，可以用以下來兩種表達方式：come into contact with和come in contact with。前者比后者使用更頻繁；
make contact with 表示“與某人進行接觸”；
contact的幾個注意點：
有時可指“被聯系的人”。

【詞義辨析】
1.contact, touch
這兩個動詞均有“接觸”之意。
contact強調緊密接觸的兩個物體之間的相互關系。也可用作比喻。
touch指具體意義“接觸”時，強調動作；表抽象意義時，側重“聯系”。
2.meet, encounter, confront, face, contact
這些動詞均有“遇見、會見、碰見”之意。
meet普通用詞，本義指雙方或多方從不同方向或相反方向作相對運動，最終相碰(遇)。
encounter通常指遇到困難或挫折，也指偶然或意外地相遇。
confront 不可避免地，面對面地相遇，也指敢于正視困難或問題。
face側重雙方靜止地面對面，或指充滿勇氣、信心和決心去正視人或事。
contact多指通過書信、電話或直接會面和別人聯系，口語用詞。
【例句用法】
The switches close the contacts and complete the circuit.

二.speak ill of：詆毀；說…的壞話
e.g.:I never heard you speak ill of a human being in my life.
我生平從來沒聽見你說人家的壞話。
三.in touch：聯系；能達到的；在…的附近
e.g.:I have kept in touch with him since we separated.
自從我們分手以來，我一直與他保持聯系。
