Woman: Hey, Frank, how's it going?
女：Frank，你最近怎么樣？
Man: Well, I just found out my roommate Jim is moving out of our off-campus apartment into a bigger place with a whole bunch of friends next semester.
男：我剛發(fā)現(xiàn)我的舍友Jim下學期要搬出我們在校外的公寓，去和他一大堆朋友一起住進一個更大的房子。
Woman: Oh, really?
女：真的嗎？
Man: Yeah.
男：真的。
Woman: Does this mean you'll be living by yourself next semester?
女：這是不是意味著你下個學期要一個人住了？
Man: Yeah, but that's OK cause I really want to live alone next semester anyway.
男：對啊，不過這沒關系，反正我下個學期也很想自己一個人住。
I have to concentrate on my senior project for the history department. I have a lot to write and I don't want any distractions.
我得專心研究我大四的歷史系課題。有好多東西要寫，所以我不希望有任何人或事來分散我的注意力。
The only major problem, though, is how I'll be getting to campus.
不過，唯一的問題是，到時候我要怎么去學校。
Woman: Oh, yeah?
女：哦？
Man: See, the apartment's a little far from campus and Jim has a car and he gives me rides to and from campus everyday. But I can't afford a car now.
男：你看，我的公寓離學校有點遠，Jim有車，每天都順便捎著我上下學。但是我現(xiàn)在可買不起車啊。
Woman: So have you thought about taking public transportation, uh, the bus to campus?
女：那你有沒有考慮過坐公共交通工具去學校呢，比如公交車？
Man: Yeah, I have. The thing is that there's no bus going directly to the campus from that part of town.
男：考慮過啊。可是問題是，從我住的那個區(qū)域沒有直達的公交車可以去學校。
I'd have to change buses a couple of times on the way.
我在路上得倒好幾趟車。
Woman: I see. That could take a lot of time.
女：我知道了，這樣要花很長時間。
Man: Right!
男：沒錯！
Woman: Hmm, well, maybe you should move back into a dormitory on campus. Request a single room. There's lots of them.
女：也許你應該搬回學校的宿舍去住。學校宿舍里有很多單人房，你可以申請一間啊。
Man: Yeah, I thought about that. You know, I could live alone and get my work done but, I don't know, I would miss my apartment.
男：嗯，我有考慮過這么做。你知道的，這樣我也可以一個人住，還能完成作業(yè)，但是......我也不知道，我會想念我的公寓的。
Woman: I know, but you've got to make some choice.
女：我理解，但是你必須得做出選擇啊。
