An artist has sparked a debate about what women's skirt lengths say about the wearer.
一名藝術(shù)家最近引發(fā)了一場爭論，爭論的內(nèi)容是：女人裙子的長度能否說明這個女人是什么樣的人。
Rosea Lake, 18, who is studying graphic design and illustration at Capilano University in Vancouver, posted a photograph titled Judgements to her Tumblr account.
18歲的羅茜·萊克目前正在溫哥華的卡普蘭大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)平面設(shè)計及插畫，她在Tumblr上發(fā)布了一張照片，照片題為“評判”。
The image shows a woman from behind with ten words written up her left leg indicating various hemlines, with 'matronly' scrawled at the bottom of her calf and 'whore' seen just below her buttocks.
圖片的內(nèi)容是一名女子的背影，左腿上寫有十個詞，表示不同的裙邊長度。小腿的最下方涂寫的文字是“主婦”，而臀部下方的部位寫的是“妓女”。
Resting under her knee is the label 'proper' while 'flirty' sits above.

In just two weeks Miss Lake's photo has attracted more than 270,000 comments as it has been shared on various social networking sites.
短短的兩周之內(nèi)，萊克小姐的照片下已有27萬余條評論，這張照片也被分享到了各個社交網(wǎng)站上。
One commentator wrote on Facebook: 'It doesn't go down to the ankle, would that be graceful or elegant? I think so.'
一個評論者在Facebook上寫道：“還沒有拍到腳踝的地方。到腳踝的裙子會不會用優(yōu)雅來形容？我覺得會的。”
While another showed their distaste adding: 'Sure, let's judge women like we did in the 1600's. Disgusting!'
另外卻有人表達了對此的反感：“對，我們就像17世紀時那樣評價女性吧。真惡心！”
However Laura Beck of Jezebel said: 'This picture really resonates with me. Like many women, I've been subjected to confirm my skirt was long enough at school and been asked, while wearing a maxidress, why I was so covered up. There's some days a lady just can't win.'
然而Jezebel網(wǎng)站的羅拉·貝克說：“這張照片真的引發(fā)了我的共鳴。和其他很多女生一樣，我在學(xué)校里必須確保自己的裙子足夠長。而我穿長裙時，卻又會有人問我為什么要把自己包得這么嚴實。有時候女人無論怎么做別人都有意見。”
Miss Lake, who shot the picture when she was 17 as part of a high school project, said she wanted the piece to stop people jumping to conclusions when it comes to women and the way they dress.
萊克小姐在17歲的時候拍攝了這張照片，這是她在高中的一個課題。她說她希望人們不要一看到女人裙子的長度就直接對她下定論。
She told The Province: 'I realized that when I looked at a woman in a short skirt I automatically thought ‘slut’ - I felt bad about that.、
她告訴The Province網(wǎng)站的記者：“我意識到，當(dāng)我看到一個穿短裙的女人時，我自然而然就會想到‘蕩婦’，我覺得這樣很不好。”
'And I thought all women who wore hijabs were being oppressed. I thought about slut shaming and thought we need to get to a place where we are not judgmental.'
“另外，我覺得帶頭巾的女性也一直受到壓迫。會想到‘蕩婦’我覺得很羞愧，我認為我們不應(yīng)該輕易對別人做出評價。”
Due to demand she is now planning on selling prints of Judgements, however she says one minor tweak must be made first as the word 'prudish' is spelled incorrectly, 'I didn’t catch that when I first did it. But for prints or other stuff I will fix it,' she explained.
鑒于大家的需求，她正打算出售“評判”的印刷品，不過她說還需要做一個小改動，因為“prudish”（拘謹）這個詞拼錯了。“我一開始拍照片的時候沒有發(fā)現(xiàn)。不過如果是要印出來的話我會把這個改掉，” 她說道。
