Who knew mountains were so visually stunning? Photographer Jack Brauer has an interest in mountains that has preceded his love of photography, but now the two passions have come together in one explosive portfolio. The Colorado native has taken some of the most breathtaking photos of mountainous landscapes around the world, traveling from Norway to Turkey and all across the United States.
With the help of a bright sun rising or setting in the distance, the mountain ranges in Brauer's images are illuminated with a rainbow of hues. However, it isn't just the bright colors that jump out of his photos. There is an undeniable appeal to the seamless merge between the massive mountains and their reflections. Visual symmetry is attractive to the human eye, whether it be in a person's face or a mountain reflection.
The soundwave-like abstract patterns that Brauer has captured are stunning. Some of my favorite shots reflect the sky in the water which cause the landscapes to seem like they are floating high up in the air! Looking through his work, I found myself questioning whether this was truly within nature because it all seemed too beautiful. Brauer hopes to inspire people to appreciate and respect the remaining wilderness and perhaps go on a journey themselves.
