【背景知識】

3月29日，闊別多年的日全食再次光臨。這次日全食范圍很廣，在全世界很多地區都能看到。因中國地域偏離全食帶，所以29日只有西部一些地區能看到日偏食。當月球繞地球轉到太陽和地球中間時，如果太陽、月球、地球三者正好排成或接近一條直線，月球擋住了射到地球上去的太陽光，這時就會發生日食現象。

報道中的solar eclipse就是自然奇觀“日食”。Solar源于希臘語，指“of，relating to，or proceeding from the sun”（和太陽有關的或從太陽發出的），其相關的表達如：solar calendar（陽歷），solar cooker（太陽灶），solar heating system（太陽能加熱系統）。
