make heads or tails of

exp. To understand someone or something. （弄清楚…….，充分了解清楚………）

e.g. I can't make heads or tails of that new guy in accounting. Sometimes, he's really friendly, and then other times he acts like he's never met me before.

我搞不懂那個新來的會計。有時，他真的很友好，但有時他表現(xiàn)得好像從未見過我。

e.g. I couldn't make heads or tails of what he was saying.

1. have a test：測驗

2. have some trouble in：在…….有困難

3. do somebody a favor：幫……的忙

e.g. Could you do me a favor to hand me that pencil, please?

e.g. It's a good idea to butter a person up before asking them to do you a favor.

在要求別人幫你忙之前，最好先對他們說些好聽的話。
