Poor Plumber
可憐的管子工
A lady was expecting the plumber; he was supposed to come at ten o'clock.
一位女士在等著管子工來，他本該10點來的。
Ten o'clock came and went; no plumber; eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, one o'clock; no plumber.
10點了，沒來；11點了，沒來；12點了，沒來；1點了，還是沒來。
She concluded he wasn't coming, and went out to do some shopping. While she was out, the plumber arrived.
她認(rèn)為他不會來了，就出去買東西了。她走了以后，管子工來了。
He knocked on the door; the lady's parrot said, "Who is it?" He replied, "It's the plumber."
他敲了敲門，那位女士的鸚鵡說：“誰呀？”他答道：“我是管子工。”
He thought it was the lady who'd said, "Who is it?" and waited for her to come and let him in.
他認(rèn)為是那位女士在問：“誰呀？”，于是就等著她來開門。
When this didn't happen he knocked again, and again the parrot said, "Who is it?" He said, "It's the plumber!"
沒有人來開門，他又敲了敲門。鸚鵡問道：“誰呀？”他答道：“我是管子工！！！”
He waited, and again the lady didn't come to let him in. He knocked again, and again the parrot said, "Who is it?" He said, "IT'S THE PLUMBER!!!!!!!!"
他等著，還是沒有人來開門。他又敲門，鸚鵡問道：“誰呀？”他答道：“我是管子工！！！”
Again he waited; again she didn't come; again he knocked; again the parrot said, "Who is it?"
他又等著，還是沒有人來開門。他再敲門，鸚鵡問道：“誰呀？”
"Aarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!" he said, flying into a rage; he pushed the door in and ripped it off its hinges. He suffered a heart attack and he fell dead in the doorway.
“啊——”他怒火中燒，撞進(jìn)門去，把門上的合葉都撞掉了。他的心臟病發(fā)作，倒在門口，死了。
The lady came home, only to see the door ripped off its hinges and a corpse lying in the doorway, "A dead body!" She exclaimed, "WHO IS IT?!"
那位女士回到家，卻發(fā)現(xiàn)門掉下來了，門口還有一具死尸。她驚叫道：“一具尸體！他是誰？！”
The parrot said, "It's the plumber."
鸚鵡答道：“是管子工。”
