Manager: Every two months, the typical loan officer approves 35 to 40 loans. You have given out...561.
主管：每兩個月，一般借貸員會批準35到40項貸款，你卻批準……561項貸款。
Carl: A little more than average, then.
卡爾：比平均值高一點而已。
Manager: What's even more unusual are the amounts. A $250 loan for a mountain bike, $600 for windsurfing lessons...
主管：更不尋常的是貸款金額，250元買一臺越野單車，600元上帆板的教學課……
Carl: Have you ever tried that? It's fun.
卡爾：你玩過嗎？很好玩喔。
Manager: Carl, this bank traditionally has never given out small loans.
主管：卡爾，本銀行一向不處理小額貸款。
Norman: If I can explain...
諾曼：請讓我解釋……
Manager: Sit down, Norman. At first I thought you might be raiding our coffers.
主管：坐下。我一開始以為你在揩油……
Carl: I would never do that.
卡爾：我不會做這種事。
Manager: I would if I could, so why wouldn't you? But then I looked closer. These people are so grateful to have their needs met...more than 98 percent of them are following through with payments. And because you've given out so many of them...we're actually making a lot of money.
主管：可以的話我會，你憑什么不會？不過后來我仔細研究發現，這些人很感激你批準他們的貸款，百分之九十八以上都會按時還貸，而且你批準這么多項貸款，反而讓公司賺了不少錢。
